The Creation Stories of the Hàhan begin with the dark and brooding proto-myth concerning the spirit of Dhàl, a being that comes into existence just as an earlier universe is coming to an end. His visions lead him to try to create new worlds and beings, of whom the greatest is Aodhàn.

Although Dhàl is destined to live out his time in the darkness of primordial caves, Aodhàn escapes these confines and emerges into a new universe, where he creates the world we know.
